May give every 4-6 hours as needed, no more than 5 times in 24 hours (unless directed by your health care provider)
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) should not be given to infants under the age of 2 months. If infant less than 2 months of age has a fever the physician should be called immediately!
It is now recommended that children not be given acetaminophen or ibuprofen routinely BEFORE immunizations, but acetaminophen or ibuprofen can be given if your child devlops fever or fussiness after receiving immunizations. This recommendation is based on new evidence suggesting that immunizations may work better if these medications are not given prior to immunizations.
